IF WE DON’T SUPPORT WHO SUPPORTS US, THEN WHO ARE WE?

While the debate on gay marriage is going on this month, supporters and opponents alike are filing their briefs into the Supreme Court in hoping to persuade them in one way or another.

Supporters are coming out in flocks. Recently seen in the New York Times, an article, Corporate Call for Change in Gay Marriage Case, more than 200 companies signed a brief in favor of overturning a section of DOMA that denies recognition and federal benefits to same-sex couples. Citigroup, Apple, Mars are among the companies who signed the brief.

“The arguments white supremacists used to justify for miscegenation laws–that interracial marriages were contrary to God’s will or somehow unnatural–are echoed today by the most conservative opponents of same-sex marriage.”

While there are many opponents on the issue, which have ridiculous reasons to not support marriage equality, I’m serious, I have not heard one that makes any sense. Their arguments resemble those arguments of interracial marriage and use religion as a weapon for their argument!

We all know how that turned out!

The end of the world never came as predicted so I guess they were wrong!
